Basic requirements for packaging design

First, the overall handling of packaging design suitable for the overall treatment, we must pay attention to the safety, quantity and volume needs of the shipment palletization. When selecting the package size, attention should be paid to the connection between the market place and the market place. In order to stabilize the pallet load, a stacking handle should be designed on the overall package.
Second, packaging standardization In the fruit processing wholesale warehouse, uses the packaging to have many different types, shapes and sizes. Many packaging designs are not suitable for loading and unloading and often cause serious damage to the fruit during mixed shipping or retail distribution. Therefore, it is very necessary to establish a series of standardized and sized packaging that can meet the requirements of the international metric system. There are many considerations in the development of new packaging, and its size and size should mainly be adapted to "tray" handling. The so-called "metric tray", the tray size is length * width = 1200mm * 1000mm, there are also 1219mm * 1016mm specifications, product packaging size specifications recommended for 600mm * 400mm, 500mm * 400mm, 500mm * 300, 400mm * 300mm.
Third, the need for fruit processing and environmental conditions need to meet the various conditions must be able to maintain a good state of packaging, these situations are not only the sale and distribution of fruit, but also include fruit handling and storage.
Humidity Certain fruits, especially vegetables, are exposed to moisture during packaging and after packaging. These types of packaging must withstand long-term moisture exposure. When the packaged fruit is ice-cooled, i.e. ice is placed on the package or transported with ice on top of it, the package must be in contact with the water and it must be maintained in good condition. Many horticultural product packages require high relative humidity, and even when stored at a moderate relative humidity (usually 85%-95%), the package itself will release 100% relative humidity from the fruit itself. In the destination market, air is often deposited on the cold side of the package when the fruit is removed from the transport vehicle or storage. Therefore, the package must be specially treated with moisture or reinforced corrugated board to prevent damage to the package.
Heat-resistant packaging exposed to sunlight and product field heat is a problem that should be maximally controlled in all horticultural product harvesting. The packaging design of the field must also pay attention to avoid deterioration. The light-colored cardboard can reflect more radiant heat than the natural kraft board, so if the packaging material is the same, the deterioration is slower. Flower boxes should have thermal insulation to prevent the effects of heat and cold on the flowers. Reports have pointed out that the storage of corrugated packaging at high temperatures can accelerate the delamination of the corrugated board and cause serious problems in use.
Suitable for fruit storage in the entire season of fruit storage and sales, packaging in the warehouse to withstand changes in environmental conditions, in order to reduce the problem of storage packaging, you can use stacking aids such as pallet racks, luggage racks and pillars.
Fourth, to facilitate inspection of sales and reuse, easy inspection and packaging should be easy to accept the inspection of the packaging of horticultural products. Sleeve type corrugated packaging can be inspected after removing the cover, and the ability to quickly uncover the cover or have an inspection opening also has the same function. Whatever the process, the packaging must be safe to close and protect the fruit during distribution.
Some of the packaging designs are dedicated to retail displays. The most notable examples are berry baskets, apples, oranges, carrots, etc. are bagged in sold sizes, and some are platters or local packaging. Packages for retail display must be suitable for retail needs, and packaging is more important than other types of makeup. After many fruits reach the consumer market, the most satisfying packaging is the packaging of small consumer units. If the product is corrupted, it can be found and can be repackaged.
Packaging Disposal and Reuse The problem of disposal after use of packaging has become more and more serious in recent years. Incineration treatment is limited to most urban areas. There are many disposal methods, which can be determined according to the nature of the packaging materials, such as repeated use, repeated modification and filling. Some wood packaging can be re-organized for use after renovation, corrugated fiberboard packaging can be recycled, and plastic foam packaging materials are rarely recycled. Plastic or foam packaging and corrugated fiberboard packages that have been coated or rewaxed with plastic have become major sources of urban environmental pollution. Therefore, collapsible, recyclable packaging should be manufactured for reuse, and national or regional networks should be formed for collection, recovery, cleaning and recycling, accelerating the process of packaging-free pollution.
