Process principle of inline cold ironing

The InlineFoiler inline hot-pressing device is designed to further enhance the performance of printed products by overprinting a cold-printed foil on a printing unit to form a metallic-style image. These images are formed by separating the metal foil from the supported carrier film from the area of ​​the coated viscous ink and transferring it to the paper.

Inline cold foiling devices are typically installed on the second and third printing units. The viscous ink is printed onto the printing material using a conventional offset printing plate on the first printing unit. Where the viscous ink is printed, the foil is transferred to the substrate. These areas can be lines, text, solids, and images.

On the second printing unit, an unwinding device of the InlineFoiler inline hot-pressing device is mounted, and the metal foil is conveyed into the gap between the special blanket and the impression cylinder. These blankets contain a special micro-spherical structure that supports this transfer process well.

At the top of the third printing unit, a rewinding device is mounted, a carrier film of the metal foil is taken up, and a metal foil which is not transferred. After the cold-hot process is completed, the substrate starts from the third unit and begins the traditional in-line multi-color printing on the substrate that has been stamped with hot foil.
