Color difference meter analysis method

Correlation analysis method: The ΔE total color difference is used to quantify the visual difference between two colors. A ΔL+ indicates whitening, while ΔL- indicates darkening. Δa+ represents a reddish tone, and Δa- indicates a greenish tint. Δb+ refers to yellowing, whereas Δb- suggests a bluish shift. Chromatic aberration can be assessed based on these values. In terms of acceptability, a ΔE value between 0 and 0.25 is considered very small or negligible, indicating an ideal color match. A range of 0.25 to 0.5 ΔE is classified as tiny, and typically acceptable for most applications. Between 0.5 and 1.0 ΔE, the difference is minor to moderate, and may be acceptable in some specific cases. For values from 1.0 to 2.0 ΔE, the color difference is considered moderate and may be acceptable in certain industrial or commercial settings. When ΔE ranges from 2.0 to 4.0, there is a noticeable gap, and it might still be acceptable depending on the application. However, a ΔE of 4.0 or higher is generally considered very unacceptable in most standard applications due to the significant visual difference. This system helps in evaluating color consistency and quality control across various industries.
