Esko recently introduced a new generation of flexographic platesetter Cyrel Digital Imager (CDI) Spark II, which is currently available on the market.
According to Esko, CDI Spark II has a new workbench, similar to the workbench used in Spark XT, and the new Easyclamp II drum for easier loading and faster loading.
The CDI Spark flexo digital platesetter is said to be based on CDI technology and is welcomed by label and folding carton printers as well as a small number of flexographic manufacturers.
Like all members of the CDI family, CDI Spark II is equipped with a fiber laser and multiple laser beams to ensure plate quality and productivity at low drum speeds.
According to ESKO, CDI Spark II has three production efficiency and speed options. Optics 7.5 has an imaging speed of up to 0.75 meters (29.5 inches) per hour, Optics 15 has an imaging speed of up to 1.5 meters (59 inches) per hour, and Optics 25 The imaging speed is up to 2.5 meters (98.4 inches) per hour.
The Spark II can be imaged on flexible plates up to 635mm x 762mm (25" x 30") or smaller, or on a 635mm x 815mm (25" x 32") metal plate or film.
When imaging on a metal plate, the device is equipped with a magnet-vacuum drum with an imaging size of 635mm x 815mm (25 inches x 32 inches).
The Easyclamp II drum is similar to Esko's earliest Easyclamp drums. It does not require adhesive tape for mounting when mounting various sizes of plates.
Esko said that the design of the new version of the clip can now be rotated once to complete the installation of the front plate and the tip of the plate, which makes loading faster than ever.
CDI Spark II can also be connected with UV-main exposure to enable imaging of the plate and UV main beam at the same time on one device.
The combination of the above two steps has resulted in economic benefits and quality assurance. The plate-making time for each plate has been reduced by approximately 15 minutes. At the same time, manpower costs have been reduced due to fewer human operations.
