Covet NYC is more than just a design showroom—it's an immersive experience that blends curated design with luxury and a modern twist. After establishing showrooms in major cities like London and Paris, Covet House has taken on a new challenge by launching Covet NYC, offering a fresh luxury design experience in the heart of New York City. CovetED had the privilege of sitting down with Ricardo Magalhães, one of the creative forces behind this exciting project and co-founder of the multi-specialized design group.

“We want to listen to our clients, to be closer with them, to learn more about their expectations… Our projects have an open character, so we always want to do something different and better.â€
Covet NYC, also known as The Mansion, was created through a collaboration between Tessler Developments and Covet House, located at one of the most sought-after addresses in New York City—172 Madison Avenue. According to Magalhães, this project was crucial for the group as it allowed them to get closer to the market, understand the real needs of their clients, and gain a more authentic perspective on design. He explains, “This gives us a deeper understanding of the market, allowing us to select products based on identity, functionality, aesthetics, and adding our own unique touch to the overall design.â€

This new space aims to inspire both professionals and clients by pushing boundaries and fulfilling expectations. As Magalhães says, “The wow factor comes into play, and above all, we want people to live and breathe the space, feel the textures and materials, and ultimately experience our essence.†He emphasizes the importance of listening to clients and constantly striving to innovate and improve.
The showroom reflects Covet House’s bold approach to design, where inspiration and creativity are at the core of every project. It serves as a platform for designers and creators to draw from stunning spaces and products, translating that beauty into their own work.
Covet NYC features a carefully selected range of furniture, lighting, upholstery, and accessories from 11 top European luxury brands. Each brand brings its own unique style and design language, yet they complement each other beautifully. This curation allows Covet House to convey a message of luxury living, a distinct aesthetic, and unmatched comfort while always keeping the client's needs in mind.
Magalhães shares, “Our main challenge was to understand our audience, the client, and the space, and then adapt and harmonize the exterior with the interior.†One of the standout areas is the dining and living spaces, which seamlessly connect the inside with the outside. As he explains, “For me, as an interior designer, the space should be an extension of the exterior and vice versa. This area perfectly represents what our group stands for—a lounge space.â€
When asked about his greatest achievements as an interior designer, Magalhães highlights the success of creating spaces where the lounge is the centerpiece. Over the past three years, the team has refined this concept, especially in trade shows and design showrooms, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from designers and visitors alike.
“Interior designers and architects come to us ready to discuss how we can help them with their projects,†he says. “This recognition means a lot to us. It shows we’re on the right path, our message is being heard, and we can contribute meaningfully to their projects—not just by supplying products, but by building credibility.â€
